Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Deluxe Lifecote lifetime paint?
It is a coating, similar to paint, that is backed by a lifetime guarantee. It can withstand extreme weather conditions, resist fading, and prevent peeling and cracking. Stop “renting” paint and fix the problems with Deluxe LifeCote.
What do you mean by not “renting paint”?
Regular paint has recurring costs. Because of that, you really are just renting the paint. Every three to five years, you will have to repaint your house. That costs up to $8,000. There are no recurring costs when you choose DLC. The coating is applied and the job is done. No follow-up work. None is necessary.
How is Deluxe Lifecote different from regular paint?
First of all, Deluxe Lifecote is not really a kind of “paint” exactly. Rather, it is a coating that is formulated with advanced technology. It has high-quality ingredients to provide superior protection and durability compared to regular paint. It is also supported by our lifetime warranty that ensures its performance.

It is not always a necessity. However, we do recommend it. The cleaner the surface, the more the coating will adhere to your property. Our 12-step painting process includes cleaning the surface before painting it. This assures quality work.
When is the best time to paint my house with DLC?
When making this decision, it is important to consider the air and surface temperature. That said, every situation and property are different. If you’re interested in learning more, reach out to us and we’ll figure out how we can help.
Does the DLC coat resist mildew?
Yes, it is one of the reasons this coat can last a lifetime. It can resist mildew growth because of the additive that can inhibit its growth. This coating does not only resist mildew but can also prevent mold and other fungi on the surface.
What does it mean by “class A” fire rated?
The DLC coat is class-A fire rated because it has been tested and rated for its ability to resist the spread of flames in the event of a fire. It is the highest level of fire resistance. This indicates that the material has demonstrated excellent fire-resident properties during testing.

What Makes Lifetime Exterior Paint Good for a Lifetime?

Our lifetime exterior paint protects against cracking, peeling, fading, and other common concerns, all while operating as a durable exterior system rather than a typical paint coating.

Homeowners often repaint every three to five years, not realizing how much recurring cost and effort adds up over decades. Our paint is specifically engineered to challenge that cycle.

This lifetime performance begins with its sheer thickness—up to ten to twenty times thicker than standard latex paint. This added volume fills in micro-cracks, smooths surface irregularities, and creates a substantial barrier that resists the elements over prolonged periods.

The formulation of our paint delivers strength and flexibility while meeting stringent performance benchmarks. The coating remains intact across freeze-thaw cycles, stands up to mildew and mold, delivers UV resistance, and even achieves Class A fire ratings. On top of all that, it even works in salt-air environments without degrading.
What enables lifetime protection?
The ingredients in our paint are a significant part of what makes it strong.

For example, our coating contains 62 percent solids by volume, compared to around 30 percent in conventional paints—meaning more actual protective material is applied. Its high build thickness doesn’t just look better; it better resists cracking caused by substrate movement or temperature swings.

Specialized additives reinforce resistance to ultraviolet degradation and guard against moisture intrusion.

Together, these features allow the coating to maintain its visual and structural integrity over time—enabling a warranty that truly lasts.
What environment and weather can this lifetime exterior paint withstand?
Sun, wind, rain, thermal cycling, salt spray, fire risk, and more - this exterior coating is designed to stand the test of time.

Our coating was designed to defend against those factors. UV stabilizers resist color fading and binder breakdown. The elastomeric matrix adapts to expansion and contraction without cracking. As a result, the coating is tested to withstand salt spray, humidity, and even freeze-thaw cycles.

Being moisture resistant and mold/mildew resistant ensures it won’t succumb to common issues that damage traditional paints. Together, these ensure the finish doesn’t just last visually—it performs holistically.
Are those performance features tested by independent authorities?
Deluxe Lifecote’s coating is ASI tested, demonstrating cooling energy savings of up to 21 percent when compared with conventional paints.

You don’t have to take our word for it. These results withstand third-party scrutiny: independent lab reports show surface temperatures up to 37 degrees Fahrenheit lower on coated walls compared to similar colors of standard paint. These are verifiable, tested results that link the coating’s thermal performance with its durability.
What cost benefits result from lifetime exterior paint?
Frequent repainting isn’t just financially inefficient—it disrupts daily life, harms curb appeal, and sends volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere. Therefore, our exterior coating can help. Standard repaints can cost homeowners between $5,000 and $8,000 every 3 to 5 years.

Deluxe Lifecote’s upfront cost may be higher, but, amortized over decades—and covered against failure by a lifetime warranty—it becomes far more cost-effective.

Plus, the system’s heat reflectivity reduces energy bills further. Taken together, it becomes a layered investment: eliminating future repaint costs, lowering annual cooling expenses, and protecting structural integrity.
How does heat reflectivity tie into lifetime paint performance?
Decay starts when binder and pigment breakdown occurs, often accelerated by heat. Deluxe Lifecote’s reflective nature keeps surface temperatures cool—even on dark-colored finish walls.

In practical terms, wall surfaces can remain as much as 37 degrees cooler than identical surfaces painted with conventional coatings. Cooler walls age more slowly. That means lesser thermal stress, reduced expansion/contraction cycles, and ultimately less material fatigue over time.
How sustainable is lifetime exterior paint?
Durability is sustainability. Every paint job produces waste—old paint, packaging, brushes, solvents. Repainting every few years multiplies this waste and inflationary resource use. Deluxe Lifecote’s lifetime product reduces resource consumption by minimizing repeated applications.

In addition, its low VOC formulation improves air quality during and after installation. When paired with its reflectivity (which reduces energy use), the coating supports an eco-conscious, low-impact home improvement approach.
Is professional installation essential to uphold the lifetime promise?
Yes. The warranty only applies when Deluxe Lifecote’s multi-step process is adhered to and installed by factory-trained applicators. Material mixing, surface prep, correct thickness, and proper curing are all essential. Installers follow a twelve-step system that includes testing for moisture content, stabilizing substrates, applying primer, elastomeric base, and finishing topcoat.

Choosing unverified contractors or DIY shortcuts can compromise performance, at the risk of understatement.
Can  lifetime exterior paint be applied during a standard repaint window?
Performance remains consistent whether installed as a new finish or part of a replacement cycle. Our system bonds chemically to existing, clean substrates and addresses any conditions before finish application. Homes previously suffering from repeat repaints, peeling, or failing finishes benefit even more from this robust, corrective approach.
Can the system be applied in all climates in California?
Deluxe Lifecote’s technology is engineered for diverse climates: coastal salt, inland heat, desert extremes, mountain weather—even freeze-thaw events. You can find all of that in California.

Concrete, stucco, wood, fiber cement, EIFS—you name it, the coating can be tailored to the substrate. Its 62 percent solids formulation remains flexible across weather swells and resists moisture, UV, salt, and temperature extremes.
How does the lifetime warranty protect homeowners long-term?
Our lifetime warranty is just that: for a lifetime. That means it covers chipping, peeling, flaking, cracking—and notably covers cracking, a feature most lifetime paint warranties exclude.

A repaint every five years might come with limited guarantees, but those rarely extend beyond a decade. By contrast, this lifetime warranty means homeowners truly stop “renting” paint. Once installed by certified professionals, the exterior finish is considered permanent, eliminating future repainting costs—often in the thousands every few years.
What does the term “Stop Renting Your Paint” really mean?
By marketing lifetime exterior paint, Deluxe Lifecote highlights how homeowners typically repay the cost of paint tenfold through continual repaint cycles. Their system—paired with a genuine lifetime warranty that includes cracking—represents a permanent upgrade. No more cyclical repainting means less cost pressure, less scheduling hassle, and less disruption—turning a traditional, repetitive chore into a one-time solution that truly endures.

How Can Our Energy Efficient Paint Help?

By cooling surface temperatures, our energy efficient paint can, in time, lead to lower cooling bills, and enhanced comfort—all with the added protection of a long-lasting finish.

While insulation and updated HVAC systems often get top billing in discussions about energy savings, the role of exterior coatings has become increasingly relevant.
How does energy efficient paint reduce surface temperatures and impact indoor comfort?
At the core of Deluxe Lifecote’s system is a specially engineered coating designed to reflect infrared radiation from the sun before it can penetrate a building’s walls. Standard exterior paints, especially in darker shades, tend to absorb heat, which transfers through walls and raises indoor temperatures.

This triggers more frequent and sustained air conditioning use. Energy efficient paint, by contrast, contains heat-reflective pigments and insulating components that can dramatically reduce this solar heat gain.

Unlike typical paint, which often needs frequent repainting and does little to affect thermal conditions, our energy efficient coating combines reflectivity with real structural performance. Its thick, elastomeric formulation not only reflects heat but also adds a protective layer that helps stabilize wall temperature fluctuations.

In effect, it forms an external thermal shield, reducing the pace at which buildings absorb daytime heat and then release it back indoors during the evening hours.

We aren’t asking you to blindly trust us. Independent testing shows that surfaces coated with Deluxe Lifecote can stay up to 37 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than those coated with conventional exterior paints of a similar color.

That difference in temperature has a direct impact on indoor comfort. Rooms that face the sun—particularly west-facing bedrooms and living areas—remain significantly cooler, even during peak summer heat. Less heat enters the building envelope, which lowers the strain on air conditioning units and creates a more consistent indoor environment.
What role does solar reflectance play in energy savings?
That is probably the key factor in reducing heat buildup on the exterior surfaces of buildings.

"Solar reflectance" is a surface’s ability to reflect solar energy, especially infrared radiation, which causes most heat gain. Dark exterior paints absorb over 90% of solar energy, heating walls quickly and raising indoor temperatures significantly.

Our energy efficient coating includes heat-reflective pigments that are engineered to reflect a significant portion of solar energy. These coatings reflect visible and infrared light, unlike standard paints, helping reduce heat buildup on building surfaces. The result is lower surface temperatures and less heat transfer into the home.

By reducing the thermal load on a property, solar reflectance leads to decreased reliance on mechanical cooling systems. In many California homes, HVAC systems are the largest contributor to utility bills.

When exterior walls remain cooler, those systems cycle less frequently and require less energy to maintain a desired indoor temperature. Some homeowners report up to 21% lower energy bills yearly after applying energy-efficient coatings in warmer climates. That may be atypical, yes, but it’s not unusual.
Does energy efficient paint work like a “cool roof” for vertical walls?
Essentially. The same principles behind cool roofing technology apply to energy efficient wall coatings.

Just as a “cool roof” reflects sunlight to reduce rooftop temperatures, reflective exterior wall coatings bounce solar energy away from vertical surfaces, helping to lower wall temperatures and overall indoor heat gain.

Our coating is formulated to reflect sunlight and maintain lower surface temperatures, even in intense coastal sun. Many homes are exposed to direct sun not only from above but from all sides, especially in regions where landscaping provides limited shading.

By treating walls with the same consideration given to roofing surfaces, property owners can significantly improve total building efficiency.

Our reflective wall coatings can provide an extra layer of thermal defense. The benefit is especially noticeable in multi-story homes where upper-floor rooms often bear the brunt of midday and afternoon sun exposure. By reducing the surface temperature of these exterior walls, our coating lowers the amount of heat transferred into the home, making climate control more efficient across the board.
Can energy efficient paint help stabilize temperatures in older homes?
Absolutely. Older homes often lack the tight insulation and energy-conscious construction found in new builds. Single-pane windows, uninsulated walls, and aging HVAC systems can make temperature control a challenge. Our coating provides a non-invasive way to dramatically improve thermal performance in these structures.

Since our coating is both thick and elastomeric, it adds an insulating layer to existing surfaces. While it doesn’t replace traditional insulation, it enhances the building envelope by limiting how much solar heat is absorbed.

For homes without adequate wall insulation, this extra barrier can reduce internal heat spikes and help maintain more consistent indoor conditions. Depending upon your situation, our reflective paint solution can offer meaningful energy improvements without the need for major construction.
What makes this paint different from regular exterior coatings when it comes to long-term performance?
The lasting value of our paint comes from its ability to resist wear and maintain its reflective properties over time.

Standard exterior paints tend to degrade in sunlight. UV rays break down pigments and binders, which leads to chalking, fading, and a gradual loss of performance. Once the paint begins to deteriorate, it loses any thermal resistance it might have had.

Our coating includes advanced UV stabilizers and weather-resistant compounds that preserve both color and reflectivity for decades. The paint is specifically formulated to hold up under intense UV exposure, heavy winds, and salt air—factors that are especially relevant across California’s diverse climates.

Where traditional paints may require refreshing every few years, energy efficient paint like this is designed for long-term use. We believe in it so much that we back it with a genuine lifetime warranty.

By maintaining its integrity, our coating continues to reflect solar heat year after year. This goes a long way towards ensuring that its energy-saving benefits do not decline with time. With the added benefit of protection against cracking, peeling, and moisture intrusion, it becomes more than a coat of paint—it’s an energy-efficient exterior shield built to endure.
How does this impact utility bills and energy use over time?
The energy savings associated with our coating are cumulative. Every month that air conditioning runs less frequently, homeowners save on electricity. Over time, these savings can amount to thousands of dollars—more than offsetting the upfront investment of a premium coating system.

Because HVAC systems no longer need to work as hard, the wear and tear on compressors, fans, and other mechanical parts is reduced. This can extend the lifespan of air conditioning units and delay the need for replacements or major repairs.

For California homeowners managing ongoing energy costs in a warming climate, these combined savings offer both financial relief and greater peace of mind.

Our coating can also, in time, increase the long-term value of a property. Not only does it improve curb appeal and protect the structure, but it also offers an upgrade that aligns with modern energy-conscious living.

As buyers increasingly look for sustainable features and lower operating costs, properties treated with energy-saving coatings can stand out in a competitive housing market.
How can homeowners ensure they’re getting the most from energy efficient paint?
Proper installation is essential. The product must be applied according to manufacturer specifications to deliver the advertised thermal benefits. Our trained crews use a multi-step application process to ensure full adhesion, correct thickness, and consistent coverage across all surfaces.

Homeowners interested in lowering utility costs, improving home comfort, and increasing the longevity of their exterior finishes can benefit significantly from choosing energy efficient paint applied by professionals who understand both the science and the aesthetics of exterior home improvement.
